In just 40 days, 350 Rotaractors from around the world will descend on Sydney Olympic Park for the 7th Asia-Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference.
It will be one of the biggest, most exciting events Rotaract has ever seen. The past 18 months as the APRRC Program Director have been a rollercoaster ride, and it is great to be finally on the homestretch. We’ve pulled together a great program of guest speakers like Ramesh Ferris (Polio survivor and world-renowned activist in the fight against Polio), Glen Gerryn (past QLD Young Australian of the Year) and Sandy Blackburn-Wright (Head of Organisational Mentoring, Sustainability and Community at Westpac) just to name a few.
At the very beginning of planning APRRC Sydney, I set myself several goals to determine the success of the conference. One of these goals was a hope that the event would be run so effectively, that the Rotaractors of our district would have a chance to participate as fully as possible, rather than running the logistical side of things and missing out on the content of the program. And this is where you, our Rotarians, come in!
We are looking to create a team of volunteers to help run the conference each day so that our local Rotaractors can reap the full benefits of being a delegate at an international conference. The table below shows the different roles that we need assistance with on each day of the conference. Whether available for a few hours, a whole day or the whole conference – there is a job that is just right for you. This is a chance for Rotarians to get involved with one of the biggest Rotaract events in the world!
To volunteer or to find out more, contact Krissie at volunteers@aprrc2010.org, 0425 207 098 or just fill out the form on the right.
Please mention what day/s you are available, and if you have a preferred job you’d like to help with. Alternatively, if your Club would like to sponsor the cost of one of our guest speakers, please let me know! Thank you in advance for any support you are able to give.
The success of 2010 APRRC Sydney will make you all proud of D9680 Rotaract!
